About
What started as an underground event has transformed into a wildly-competitive, international phenomenon. How is it possible to run a sub-4 minute mile while chugging 4 beers? How will a tight-knit community, born out of making running a little more fun, receive Olympian Shelby Houlihan who is currently serving a suspension from track and field? Relationships will be tested as athletes from around the world strive to break records, make friends, and fight to be crowned Beer Mile world champions.

We have some exciting news — Beer Mile: The Film is going to Italy for its film festival premiere! We've been selected to premiere at the 44th edition of the Paladino D'Oro Sport Film Festival, a film festival in Palermo, Sicily dedicated to films about sport.
We cannot thank our team, Kickstarter backers, the athletes, and the beer mile community enough for making this happen. Learn more in the full announcement here.

Our fingers are tired from slaying the keyboard and submitting this film to festivals around the world. Now the not-so-fun part of playing the waiting game to see where we get accepted.

Locked and loaded! Our colorist and sound engineer have completed their final passes on the film, and we have a final version!
Another big thank you to all our Kickstarter backers who helped make this possible. We will see you all at our in-person watch party in Chicago and/or at our virtual watch party to let you be the first to witness the glory of the Beer Mile Film!

We're excited to share that we have picture lock on the film and have moved on to finishing touches - sound design, color grading, etc.
After 25 versions/iterations, we now have the final version we think best tells the story of the beer mile.
The run time is around 34 minutes, which puts us in the short film category for film festivals. We have a list of 17 film festivals around the world we are actively applying to to bring the beer mile to eyeballs around the world!
We are pumped for our first private showing in Chicago on April 13 to start sharing it with our Kickstarter backers!
Thank you all for the support throughout this journey. We are oh-so close to being able to share all the hard work with you!

Wow. We just watched the first full-length cut and it feels like... a movie? The whole process has been really, really cool to compare our memory of the 2023 World Classic with the portrayal in the documentary.
Lengthening the runtime has carved out enough room to really dig into all of the collective stories that made up the dope event we had this year. We are working on identifying our in-person watch party venue in Chicago and hope to update you all soon!

Ladies with gentle hands - the bag is secured 💰
A huge THANK YOU to our backers who supported the Kickstarter - we literally could not have done this without you.
We are currently filming some pickup interviews to really glue everything together. We're super excited to see things close to their final form.
While we had originally thought the runtime would be roughly 12-15 minutes, we are happy to announce we should have a final runtime of around 40 minutes! This will put us into the "short film" category for our film festival submissions.

We couldn't save all of the footage for the documentary. Here's a sneak peak at some of the chaos and fun that happened at the World Championships this year! Hope you enjoy the video - huge shoutout to Mainstream for their amazing work on the livestream. A special thank you to Thatch Films for being our partners-in-crime and bringing the Beer Mile to a documentary form.

The return of the Beer Mile World Classic to the United States after an 8-year hiatus was highly anticipated, and it did not disappoint. The deepest beer mile fields ever assembled gathered in Chicago for the 9th annual World Classic to duke it out for world titles, records, and glory.
